Simon is responsible for the sales and product management of retail products comprising deposits and payments, foreign exchange, credit card issuing and merchant acquiring, personal loans, mortgage and wealth lending. He first joined the Bank as Head of Customer Value Management, looking after customer value propositions, customer experience, analytics and deposit products.
Prior to joining Hang Seng Bank, Simon worked at Standard Chartered Bank for over a decade. He led their Group Strategy team in Hong Kong, tackling strategic issues across their geographical footprint from organic growth strategy to merger and acquisitions before becoming Head of Consumer Banking in the Philippines. He later relocated to Singapore to help establish their Group function of Priority Banking targeting affluent mass customers and took up the Group Priority Banking Chief Operating Officer.
Before his banking career, Simon worked at Booz Allen & Hamilton and then at Boston Consulting Group, serving financial institutions in banking, insurance and investment banking. Between his banking and consulting career, he was part of the founding management for a start-up listed on the Growth Enterprise Board.
Simon received his doctorate in particle physics and bachelor in physics from University College London. He was a member of a multinational collaboration working at CERN (European Organisation for Nuclear Research) to study quark-gluon plasma.
